Travel Australia, Queensland, Airlie Beach You'll find the coastal village of Airlie Beach about halfway between the two major towns of McKay and Townsville. It's also about halfway up the Queensland coast on the map just south and east of Proserpine. Corfe Castle is located on the south coast of England in the Shire of Dorset. It's quite often referred to as being situated in the Isle of Purbeck which is misleading because it's not an Isle but rather a peninsula. England, North Yorkshire, Richmond Richmond is situated in North Yorkshire and is nestled between the Yorkshire Moors and Dales. If you follow a straight line on a map from Manchester to Newcastle, you'll find Richmond about 2/3 of the way between the two (as the crow flies). Australia, Victoria, Mornington Peninsula Mornington Peninsula is located about an hours drive south of Melbourne, Victoria. While most visitors to the State take in the sights of the City and surrounding areas to the north, east and west, few venture south to the peninsula. That's a shame because the peninsula has a lot to offer from its pristine beaches to locally owned and operated wineries to great seaside getaways. USA, Utah, Torrey and Capital Reef National Part Torrey is a town located in Central Utah and is in a perfect location to as your home base while visiting the Capital Reef National Park. To get into the spirit, I recommend staying at the Thousand Islands RV Park where you can park your own rig or rent one of their onsite trailers or cabins. After a long, hard day, make sure you save your appetite for a fine meal at the Cafe Diablo. Photography There's much debate nowadays about which is better, digital or film cameras. On the one side you have the diehard 35mm camera users who think that digital images will never match the quality of a film camera. In this article we're going to focus (if you'll pardon the photography pun) on digital zoom. Why? Because what you don't know about digital zoom could hurt your images. In this edition of our newsletter we take a look at a fairly common cause of image ghosting or flare with SLR cameras. It doesn't matter if it's film or digital, if it's an SLR this may happen to you. Find out the cause and how to avoid viewfinder ghosting. Photographic Inkjet Printer Recommendations In past editions of the Sceneramic Newsletter I've focused more on cameras and the picture taking processes themselves. With more people buying digital cameras and wanting to print their own images, I thought I'd shift the focus in this edition from image taking to image making.
